Who we are
SustainPLA is a South African startup with the sole purpose of eradicating the problem of organic waste being sent to Landfill.
We believe that packaging should only solve the problem of transporting food to your fridge, not add to the poison in our soil and the toxins in our Air.
Recycling has become a buzzword and something that people believe actually happens and then solves a problem.
As long as food is packed in conventional plastic packaging it is not possible to have food not being sent to landfill. Plastic packaging contaminates organic waste loads and food contaminates recycling streams.
What we see is that we have chosen the wrong thing for the application that it was needed for because it creates another problem.
At SustainPLA we believe and strive for a circular economy by strengthening our partnerships with Composters and retailers alike to create a system that solves this problem.
